Emerging through a galactic roller disco nebular ring in 2018, Skate Odyssey burst into the stratosphere and hit the ground rolling. Their first performance at Vintage Garage 1st Birthday Party Roller Disco ignited a reaction, forming the group. Since, Skate Odyssey have performed at many Melbourne events, festivals and venues including the Foreign Brothers Roller Jam at the Night Cat, Sunday Funday Roller Disco at Moon Dog Roller Disco, Jamie O’Connell’s Prospect Park exhibition at Neon Parc, Lord Fascinator’s Water Sign album launch at the Workers Club, and Hoops, Thighs and Buttocks Showcase and Anthropic Augmentation at the Glow Winter Arts Festival 2018.
Skate. Ocean. Sky
Contemporary skate collective Skate Odyssey debut their new work S.O.S. (Skate. Ocean. Sky.) which will see the group glide through the central precinct of Geelong, catching the wind in their sails and riding into the night. This work incorporates dance, projection and outrageous costumes, creating a galaxy of high-end contemporary performance fusing the many styles of roller skating expression from jam, precision and soul skating.
